This lyrical work was written for Louis Fleury the celebrated flutist. The first movement Tendre (Soft/Delicate) is the most lyrical while the second movement Souple (Flowing/Supple) demonstrates the influence of Latin-American music and jazz on Milhaud. The final movement is Clair (Light/Clear).
