This is a great tool for the music teacher or those who have a combination of older (pre-1995) stands and newer stands. It incorporates both size sockets used to install/tighten the bolt that attaches the base to the shaft (a 9/16-inch one for the older and a 17mm socket for the modern stands). Even if your band room includes all old or includes all new stands, this wrench is still a valuable tool for conveniently taking care of installation and/or maintenance tasks. The handle length is sized to provide the right leverage to easily tighten the bolt.
