Philipp Maintz's piece for the new organ in the Jesuitenkirche St. Michael (St. Michael Jesuit Church) in Munich is based on Bach's wonderful chorale prelude to O Mensch, bewein dein Sünde gross from his Orgelbuchlein: "I wanted to write music that is rooted in Bach, based on material from him and thoroughly committed to his influence and its lasting effects much like a corona surrounds the sun and radiates in all directions."
