Each of the six cycles of the German-Danish composer Friedrich Kuhlaus has an Austrian folk song as a theme, which is skillfully and variably processed in variations.
The first cycle of this variation op. 42 is very well known and popular. The other 5 cycles, on the other hand, are relatively unknown, but musically and technically highly interesting and appealing. All variations are ideal for teaching or pre-listening in the music school.
In order to facilitate access, fingerprints as well as a few dynamic names have been added in brackets. The notes on pedal use are noted in modern spelling.
