Composer Vogel was inspired to compose this piece for a former student from his Jr. High Orchestra Aubrey Sacco who disappeared in 2010 while trekking in Nepal and as of 2014 still remains missing. As reflected in this uplifting work for strings and light percussion Aubrey was a free spirit and spread her kindness and generosity liberally. Dragonflies and glitter were two things that she loved and have become rallying symbols for family and friends who dearly hope for the day of her safe return.
