The edition is the first part of the commissioned work Our Ladys Minstrel. While Prelude paraphrases the famous chorale Salve Regina in a slow waltz, the gipsy-like cheerful waltz of Dance forms a stark contrast to it. The whole work is completed by Three Poems for soprano and organ (ED 22299).
