The composers tasteful use of anticipations, suspensions, and inner moving parts add intensity to the work as it moves inevitably from the opening c minor section to a glorious closing sectionin the parallel major. This is a lyrical, contemplative piece that allo ws for a great amount of expressive playing from the ensemble.
