No one, with the possible exception of George Gershwin, has written more songs that have become part of the body of music referred to as the "Great American Songbook" than Cole Porter. The successful 1999 revival of "Kiss Me, Kate" lit up Broadway for several years and featured completely revised and updated orchestrations. In the new version, the second act opener, "Too Darn Hot," became a dazzling production number, and Robert Woods has done an exceptional job of capturing the excitement of this Cole Porter classic.
